Our primary goal at Knox County Nursing Home Therapy Department/Functional Pathways is to help patients return to their highest level of function with optimal care. Our services include: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Bariatric and Outpatient treatment. Our programs include assistance with gait training, bed mobility, wound care, restraint reduction and wheelchair positioning.
Physical Therapy includes treatment of, but not limited to pain, safety, balance, bed mobility, transfers, gait training, adaptive equipment, & wheelchair positioning. Occupational Therapy is designed to help patients regain skills related to activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, cognition, toileting, hygiene, bathing, pain, safety, adaptive equipment, wheelchair mobility, and strength/endurance. Speech Therapy assesses and treats expressive and receptive language impairment, swallowing impairment and cognition. These deficits may be caused by stroke or dementia. Outpatient Rehabilitation program focuses on helping individuals return to their prior level of living and improving quality of life. Specialized services in Outpatient Therapy include diagnoses of amputation, arthritis, back and neck pain, brain injury, hand injury, joint replacement, lymph-edema, multiple trauma, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, pain management, post-surgical conditions, spinal dysfunction, sports-related injuries, stroke, work injuries. Patients may contact the Outpatient Center directly; however a physician’s prescription is necessary to initiate treatment. We accept payment from most insurance plans including Medicare.
