*1 sick day a month earned for full time staff
*12 holidays a year for full time staff; Part-time staff earn the holiday if they work 3 days in the week the holiday falls on
*Every other weekend work is required: Friday/Saturday for 3rd shift and Saturday/Sunday for 1st & 2nd shifts
*Mandation: Inverse seniority order, everyone takes a turn, double time pay
*Union Employee Clothing Allowance: Full time is $175.00 every 6 months; Part-Time is $100.00 every 6 months. Clothing Allowance checks are handed out in April and October.
*Shift Differential: 2nd Shift is $0.30 an hour; 3rd Shift is $0.20 an hour
*Pension Plan: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund-4% of earnings go into this fund
*UHC-UMR Health and Dental Insurance for employees that maintain 30 hours a week; Life and Vision insurance is also available
*Union facility-AFSCME Local 1047-Union members pay dues; Non-Union still have representation during disciplines but are not allowed to vote at meetings nor use arbitration. LPNs, CNAs and other employees are bargaining unit; RNs, Nursing & Dietary Floats are non-bargaining unit. RNs are considered mid-management. No deductions for PRN staff.
*Required testing for pre-employment: Essential Functions Test at SMMC Therapy Dept. and Physical at Occupational Health and HCW Background Check. All job offers are conditional pending the results of these tests (at no cost to prospective employee)
*2 weeks vacation for CNAs, RNs and other departments after one year; LPNs get 1 week vacation after one year.
*Staff have the ability to add holiday/vacation days to their paychecks during the pay period
*Wellness Bonus available for staff with 12 sick days on the books: 1st year is 3 vacation days, 2nd year is 5 vacation days. Staff have the ability to use the days for vacation or get these days paid out. Part-time Wellness Bonus after 895 hours worked in a year; this is paid out to employees.
*Part time CNAs and LPNs have the option of taking benefits or no benefits. No benefit option raises pay for CNAs to $12.94 per hour and LPNs to $20.18 per hour. Benefit/No Benefit is only changeable every December 1st. We offer PRN CNA and PRN LPN options at the same rates without union dues/IMRF deductions.
*CNAs will receive anywhere from $11.70 to $13.57 an hour; LPNs will receive between $18.06-$19.86 an hour. Rate of pay is contingent on previous experience and does not include the shift differential.
*We offer PRN positions, but no benefits are included
*We offer our employees the opportunity to work in a resident-centered environment with day-to-day meaningful staff interaction. RNs manage admissions/discharges and field a majority of paperwork, phone calls and order processing. LPNs oversee resident care on respective wings, medication/treatment administration and are encouraged to use their nursing skills working alongside the RNs in our building.
